Stefan Michael Claypool is a twenty-three year old American male residing in Washington, DC. He is currently the Group Product Manager of New Media, Finance, and Activism for the Republican National Committee.
As a member of the RNC’s New Media team, Stefan is responsible for managing the organization’s site analytics, email marketing, online activism, and elements of online fundraising. He spearheaded the first-ever GOP.com user-based site testing, and redefined several important aspects of the organization’s email system. He is also responsible for significant elements of content creation and web strategy.
In 2009, Stefan graduated Cum Laude from Middlebury College with a BA in Chinese & Economics. He is the only member of his class to graduate with a degree in both subjects. Stefan is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and spent four months studying in Hangzhou, China in 2007. Additionally, Stefan spent eleven weeks at the Middlebury College Chinese Summer Language School, one of the world’s foremost language immersion programs. He is capable of reading and writing both traditional and simplified Chinese characters. 虽然他不是中国人,他的中文和中国人的差不多一样.
“What impressed me most about Stefan was his ability to tackle broadly different projects. Despite not having a formal background in web marketing, he made important contributions by intimately understanding the task at hand. Stefan could innovate where details were scarce to better meet our project goals. This adaptability is invaluable and rare. I’m confident Stefan will make a great addition to any team looking for smart young people ready to contribute.” July 13, 2010
Robertson Price, Chief Strategist/President, RPLogic, Inc.
Stefan is one of the founding members of the Middlebury Radio Theater of Thrills & Suspense, a performing arts ensemble at Middlebury College. As president and head writer, Stefan oversaw the organization’s operations and development, expanding membership from six to fifty. He also operated the organization’s podcast, which currently receives more than fifty thousand downloads a month. Because of the work he had done preparing underclassmen to assume greater managerial responsibility, Stefan was able to leave the theater in the hands of current Middlebury students upon his graduation.
“I would have liked to have cloned Stefan because it’s rare you find an employee with such creativity, self-motivation and attention to detail. Stefan’s familiarity with multi-media and social media would be invaluable to anyone who wants to extend their message online or thorugh traditional media methods.” September 5, 2009
